How it works
The menu is written each morning and runs to about six dishes. Fish comes up from the harbour, vegetables from the terraces behind the building, and nothing is elaborate. If you want a table on a Friday or Saturday, say so when you book the room.
The restaurant is open to people who are not staying, which keeps it honest, but staying guests always have a table. The late plate exists for exactly one reason: people walking back up the cliff road after an evening in the bay are usually hungry and everything below has closed.
Tell us about allergies and dietary requirements when you enquire rather than on the night. With six dishes and one kitchen, notice makes the difference between a good plate and an apology.
