Evenings
Three ways to spend one: the terrace and a long dinner, the nine-minute walk down to the bay, or the small card room below. The last of those is entirely optional.
Staying in
The terrace stays open for reading and a last drink until eleven, at which point the volume drops and the residential floors go quiet. On Fridays there is unamplified piano in the corner of the restaurant, which finishes at half past ten because the person playing has to get home.
Going down
The cliff road reaches the front in nine minutes and takes about fifteen coming back. Guest relations will tell you what is open, what is busy, and roughly what a table costs. We have no financial interest in any venue down there and take nothing for pointing you toward one.
The card room
One room on the lower terrace with its own outside door, three tables, and a bar that closes at half past midnight. Eighteen and over, photographic identification checked every time, and never included in any rate. Its full details, including hours and floor rules, sit on the Gaming page.
